Dear friends and colleagues,

On behalf of Meeting President, Jules Desmeules, and the entire Meeting Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the 15th European ISSX (International Society for the Study of Xenobiotics) and EACPT (European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics) joint meeting held in beautiful Geneva, Switzerland. This joint meeting – under the overarching theme “Precision Medicine from Bench to Bedside”- will bring together researchers from both experimental and clinical disciplines engaged in drug research, drug development, drug use, and clinical practice. It will bring the unique opportunity for members of the two scientific societies to exchange ideas and expertise, to develop a common vision, and to create and nurture collaborations in different fields of the study of medicines.

The meeting will start with short courses on options for the development of patient population specific PBPK models, and basic aspects, applications and methodologies of major omics technologies in the context of precision medicine. Following the short courses, the opening keynote lecture will discuss regulatory aspects of precision medicine after which attendees and registered guests are invited to the opening welcome reception to enjoy refreshments and meet with exhibiting companies.

Fifteen scientific symposia encompassing a broad spectrum of topics important in the field will be featured by state-of-the-art plenaries and lectures as well as lectures by the recipients of the European Scientific Achievement Award and the European New Investigator Award. In addition, there will be poster sessions, a trade exhibition, and industry-sponsored symposia. On the social side, we are planning an enjoyable conference dinner with the tradition of Swiss hospitality giving an excellent opportunity to expand your network.

Geneva is the second largest city in Switzerland and known for its humanitarian tradition and cosmopolitan flair, hosting numerous international organizations. Embedded between nearby Alpine peaks and the hilly terrain of the Jura, the French-speaking city of Geneva grows from the shores of Lake Geneva into the surrounding country. We suggest that you bring your family and extend your stay to make this your unique summer holiday.

Information concerning the scientific program, abstract submission, meeting registration, hotel accommodations, travel grants, entry requirements, and much more may be found on this website.

Please take this opportunity to expand and share your knowledge on the interaction of pharmaceuticals with living systems and clinical pharmacology, renew or develop friendships with colleagues from around the world, and enjoy everything the wonderful city of Geneva has to offer.

Meeting Program

As the foremost organization representing the interests of researchers and educators in the field, the Society is engaged in multiple activities to support, promote, and advance the profession on a global scale. ISSX was formed in 1981 when a small group of scientists, brought together during the 1970's under the aegis of the Gordon Research Conferences on Drug Metabolism, created an international society to promote the interaction of scientists dedicated to the study of xenobiotics in living systems.

The mission of ISSX is to advance research and education on the interplay of living systems with medicines and chemicals for the benefit of society worldwide.

The European Association for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics (EACPT) is a learned society in the field of clinical pharmacology. It is the leading society in Europe serving the European and global clinical pharmacology and therapeutics community. The EACPT includes all national organisations for clinical pharmacology in Europe and provides educational and scientific support for the more than 4000 individual professionals interested in clinical pharmacology and therapeutics throughout the European region, with its congresses – the next in Stockholm in 2019 – attended by a global audience. The EACPT also holds summer schools, focus meetings and organises other scientific and professional activities.
